“There can be no development without the empowerment of women.” – Raju Vegesna

Women and girls are among the most vulnerable groups in India. Gender inequality impacts India’s sex ratio, women’s health, education and economic conditions throughout their lives.

The Raju Vegesna Foundation recognizes the role of women and the elderly and their important role in creating a better society. The Foundation encourages community involvement and projects are initiated with collaboration from the Gram Panchayat and participation from local trained youth.

India ranks among the world’s lowest in labour force participation rate for women, according to a Catalyst survey. Despite educational gains, the labour force participation rate for women in 2017 was 28.5% (compared to 82% for men). Reaching gender parity would have a bigger impact in India than in any other region in the world.

As more women move into non-traditional professional jobs, RVF has stepped in to ensure they are armed with the right skills and confidence.

The Foundation offers job-oriented courses for skilled & semi-skilled women workers.

RVF also helps women gain access to healthcare and hygiene facilities. The Foundation encourages community involvement and projects are initiated with collaboration from the Gram Panchayat and participation from local trained youth
